MAN OF CINEMA
Ralph Fiennes you absolute fucking legend! He has earned himself another oscar
nomination! I was just in awe of his performance, especially the final sequence. That was pure satan vibes! This film is batshit crazy , funny, disgusting and brutal as fuck. I am not a big fan of all the movies in the franchise, loved the "28 days later" but "The Bone Temple" may well be the best film of this franchise. This film is more than just a usual zombie flick with a repeated narrative. It draws a brilliant philosophical parallel from the current world and places it into the apocalypse. It talks about dogmatism, cult, science and faith. It strips the genre of blood thirsty zombies and usual survival spectacles, and reclaim the Zombie as a monster of science, and not a tool of violence and fear. It makes its own narrative, reminding us of the Worst AND the Best that human beings offer each other in times of crisis. The film uses horror as a lens to examine grief, belief, madness, and mercy, with the Jimmy cult providing some of the most disturbing and memorable sequences in the franchise. It’s shocking, darkly funny, and deeply erratic. Last year started with sinners, this year with bone temple, horror fans eating real good! Also both films are directed by black american directors. And I am sold on Nia DaCosta's talent. She slows the pulse and pace of the movie and looks inward, questioning what prolonged isolation does to the human spirit and how easily it can reshape identity. That shift gives the story real weight, and she shifts between genres with so ease. She's certainly one of the best black female directors out there, and we see very few female directors in the genre of horror and gore, this was really wholesome.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple sets out to reinvigorate the zombie-horror
genre and largely succeeds, even if it doesn’t quite transcend it. The film takes its time establishing
