Phanindra Narsetti reaches for poetic grandeur in 8 Vasantalu, but the film
often buckles under the weight of its own ambition. The first half unfolds with lyrical grace, but the second half slips into indulgence — bogged down by philosophical musings and heavy-handed symbolism. What begins as a cinematic journey gradually morphs into a prolonged spoken-word recital, sacrificing emotional intimacy in favor of ornate expression. Its reluctance to embrace silence or simplicity leaves the narrative feeling distant and overwrought. Ananthika Sanilkumar brings sincerity to her role as Shuddhi, portraying her with quiet resilience and vulnerability. Vishwanath Reddy’s cinematography stands out as the film’s strongest asset — each frame beautifully composed, capturing the serenity of nature with painterly finesse. Hesham Abdul Wahab’s music aligns well with the film’s tone, though it’s often drowned out by the verbosity of the script. Shashank Mali’s editing attempts to maintain rhythm but struggles against the theatrical pacing and dense dialogue. The production design is elegant, with dreamlike visuals that elevate the film’s aesthetic appeal. 8 Vasantalu is visually captivating but narratively bloated — a film that aspires to be profound yet feels emotionally remote. Its artistic ambition is clear, but the storytelling leans too far into self-indulgence. Recommended only for those who appreciate poetic cinema and are willing to overlook narrative excess in favor of visual and thematic richness.

An exceptionally crafted film that feels so poetic in nature!!!! Phanindra
Narsetti crafts this film with a non-linear screenplay reminiscing of Memento. The unconventional

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prettier looking film and it’s great to see how
much work has gone into every aspect of how the film should look and the colour tones used . Adding
