A House of Dynamite

the film fails to create that tension, fear, horror, and intensity like the couple of old classic films did, such as Fail Safe(1964) or even "Dr. Strangelove". In this film they tried to play with the nature unpredictability, no one knows who has launched this Missile against the USA, what is their intention, where it is going to hit and or will there be a full blown war. All these aspects really create a gripping atmosphere which glues to totally each moment that is escalating towards total destruction. But after sometime i suddenly lost interest, because the film was going nowhere, there were several side plots which just distracted my momentum i had with the situation. Then suddenly the film starts showing a different POVs of the situation that has already happened. All these things really felt like fillers to me. On top of that film ends up abruptly with an open ending with still 12 min runtime to go. I was just shocked to see what just happened here. Did they just run out of ideas and a story and where to take it? It isn’t just bad storytelling, silly screenplay choices. it’s a loss of opportunity to say something meaningful and effective about geopolitical affairs and war tensions around the world. Put your political beliefs aside, this is an average film at its absolute best . The film asks a question, what would happen if a nuclear warhead was headed to the United States? But it fails to properly engage with this question & ultimately fails to even entertain its audience. This is a film with a paper-thin plot, and ineffective dialogue that does not rise to the importance of this film’s subject matter and sensitivity. This was a big disappointment.
