A Poet

A failed artist & his artistic hypocrisy always has a chance to take an ugly turn. When an ageing out of touch poet Oscar finds a young prodigy in his teaching class. He pushes her and supports her to recognise her talent and make the best use of it. But in the ignorance of his unfulfilled dream, he fails to understand the reasoning behind her poems and writing. A Poet very brilliantly captures the madness, sadness and hollow & erratic feeling of a dusted poet who has everything to lose, but nothing to gain. The state of his life is hilariously funny and heartbreakingly sad at the same time. Director Simón Mesa uses the dry humor as emotional tool to tell a story of lost man who is looking redemption in life with all honesty in his heart & with good intentions which takes turn into ugly circumstances. failed ambition and artistic hypocrisy The film meanders a bit towards the end stretching the ending, which was mostly the only negative point about the i felt. But if you really enjoyed the film then you can ignore couple technical flaws.
