Anbe Diana is a simple, warm love story set in Chennai’s Perambur.
Sita Krishna, a traditional Telugu boy, falls for Diana, an outgoing Anglo-Indian girl. Their relationship sounds simple, but family expectations, cultural differences and old rivalries make things complicated.
What I liked is that the film doesn’t try too hard to make the romance feel dramatic. The Chennai setting, natural performances and small family moments give it a nice homely feel. Pari Elavazhagan and Ramya Ranganathan have a pleasant chemistry, while the comedy keeps things light.
It’s not a perfect film, though. Some portions feel stretched, and the story becomes predictable once the family conflict takes centre stage. Still, it has enough warmth and humour to make it an enjoyable watch.
