Watched Asoka for the first time and quite liked it, which I know for a fact
since I usually watch films that are more than 2.5 hours long in two sittings, but finished this one in one sitting. I won't go into historical (in)accuracies because I'm not a historian, and I believe that some fictionalisation of historical events makes them more fun to watch. I loved especially Asoka's character arc from an ambitious prince, to a grieving lover, to a diabolical king who chose to channelise his grief through destruction, and eventually someone who understood the futility of it all. Never quite vibed with the extreme sexiness of the movie, because I always felt it kind of shifted the focus more on the love story compared to Asoka's inner transformation, which probably had more to do with his love for humanity than for Kaurwaki's booty. But not complaining much because this film gave us one of the sexiest Hindi albums of all time.
