MAN OF CINEMA
DC's villain arch stories need to be applauded, be it Penguin, Joker, Suicide
Squad or Peacemaker and now Clayface all of them carries great form of storytelling with depth in the characters and explores the conditions and life of them which led to be what they are now, a hard ass villains. Clayface not only brings the comic character alive in such a good way, but also uses body horror tropes in a creative way. Mike Flanagan wrote the script, which only proves how good this guy is in writing horror flicks with a personal story of struggle and identity. We have seen that recently with "Carrie" too, another banger. The way the story develops Matt as a VILLAIN is terrifying, because you really empathize with him in the beginning of the film, but at the same time you can't help but look forward to him turning into that monster. I love that DC focuses on telling stories rather than showcasing repeated spectacles like Marvel. People say superhero stuff is outdated now, its not true , all you need to do is find a new perspective of telling that story, be more honest and subtle while keeping the essence of the character. This film does that perfectly. The movie has some weak writing on side characters It looks like everyone was focused on Matt, the final killing spree could have been much gritty and bleak, but it was more humour and fun, i still enjoyed it. But in the end the movie didn't lose the essence of the character, he is an evil monster and I’m glad clayface didn’t fall into the sympathetic villain trap like others. You lose any shred of pity you had for him pretty quickly when you realize he’s always been messed up. It’s fun to watch him get revenge, but by the end, you want him to lose and turn into what he is.

Great Body horror and performances.
It had no idea what it wanted to be. I would love to see DC go full disturbing horror without needing the CW dialogue.

Despite a rushed finale, #Clayface delivers a searing commentary on mental
