MAN OF CINEMA
The neo-noir existential crime thriller which hooks us for the plot and
character traits more than the thrills and action like other flicks of this genre.
Wenders brilliantly adapts the Ripley's Game novel into live action, making him more human, corrupt and vulnerable than ever.
Deliberately slow paced, wenders asks viewers to engage with the movie then vice versa. It makes us think beyond Ripley's manipulations, charm and Zimmermann's desperation. It offers something more unique, and realistic. Eventually forming an atypical friendship out of desperation.
