Jim Jarmusch tells three different short stories where it highlights a particular family member and showcases the estranged relationship they have with their kids and vice versa. In all stories you feel they hardly know each other, they come across formal colleagues more than family. I love how Jarmusch kept certain things constant in all stories like, the bob joke, water, skaters, rollex, cars, drinking tea. All these things somehow connect all three stories on some level for the audience. But apart from these materialistic things , we don't feel any real emotions. Only in the third story, you feel the loving emotions from the siblings. That was good to watch.otherwise those awkward silences were killing me. The problem for me was, these three stories don't linger in your thoughts after the movie, it doesn't make you reflect in your own relationships you have with your parents and siblings. It feels very surface level, stylised, and humour oriented confrontation. Rather than deep search for connection.
