I, Nobody

government employee whose life changes after he is taken hostage during a bank robbery. When the stolen money goes missing, he becomes the prime suspect, putting his family and peaceful life at risk. Everyone is a nobody until they are blamed for something they never did. I, Nobody starts like a bank heist thriller, making us believe the story is mainly about the robbery and the missing money. However, as the film progresses, it shifts its focus to Rajeevan and the unexpected fate that changes the life of an ordinary man who was once unnoticed by everyone around him. One of the film's biggest strengths is its grounded writing. The way it builds Rajeevan's character, his fear, family struggles, and the pressure of being branded a troublemaker by society feels realistic and believable. It becomes easy to understand his pain and emotionally connect with everything he goes through. Prithviraj delivers a controlled and convincing performance that makes Rajeevan's emotions feel genuine. The first half is easily the strongest part of the film. It carries the emotional weight of a man trying to survive a situation he never expected to face. The screenplay builds tension naturally, and every new problem feels like a realistic consequence of the previous one. The film keeps us invested in Rajeevan's journey without depending on unnecessary cinematic moments. The second half shifts its focus to Rajeevan's fight to clear his name from the labels given by society, the police, the legal system, and the media. The core idea remains interesting, but the writing becomes slightly uneven. A kidnapping subplot feels incomplete, and the film slowly introduces a more heroic action side to Rajeevan. This transformation doesn't completely match the grounded tone established in the first half. The film takes a sharp look at media narratives and how some people are always searching for the next controversy just to stay relevant. Once a new story appears, they quickly forget the previous one. It also shows how an ordinary nobody can suddenly become a controversial somebody in the eyes of the public, and how the same people completely change their opinions when the narrative changes. The film also comments on how those in power can influence which controversies remain in public discussion and which disappear over time. Ultimately, there couldn't have been a more suitable title than I, Nobody. The title perfectly reflects the film's central theme. Despite a few flaws in the second half, it remains an engaging social thriller with strong emotional moments, meaningful social commentary, and a satisfying theatrical experience.
