could trigger hard emotions while talking about sexuality, intimacy, sexual repression and relationships. But here this film scratches only a little surface, and feels very commercial and spoon feeding. Like Araki wanted to show something to the Gen Z audience. But it was fun and has brilliant performances from Hoffman and Olivia Wilde. The film delves into an unhealthy relationship between the assistant and his dominatrix boss, who pushes boundaries to the limit for the sake of art. But the themes involved in the movie is what really makes it very interesting, but Araki never really cared to deep dive in it. To be funny the film really tries to embrace the hornyness and crazy sequences but it fails spectacularly in several aspects, especially in its message. Araki piles up stereotype after stereotype, with no nuance and the places the heart of its plot on a relationship that is neither as extreme as it seems to believe nor possesses any nuance or emotions to feel something for hoffman or even for olivia. Some of Araki's observations hit the mark, they generally rely on stale ideas. The film's dose of eroticism feels like a dash of plastic, just enough to feed its absurd humor rather than to evoke thoughts or emotions about the issues these character and people possess it.
