MAN OF CINEMA
" There are many relationships which ends or break down, but in marriage when
the love dies between two people without separation its starts to rot, its starts to hurt"
A poetic portrait of love , loss and regrets. It's a film about love's lingering shadows, the unspoken feelings, and the truth a heart must finally admit.
The movie weaves together past and present with such grace. two souls torn apart by duty, jealousy, and the weight of memory meet again in a railway station waiting room and confront what they have lost and what they still carry within. It's not a melodrama but a mature portrait of sorrow and hope. The film treats love, separation, regret, each with gentleness and with honesty.
Rekha as Sudha is heartbreaking and luminous, a woman who gives everything of herself and yet has to guard her own longing and heartbreak. Naseeruddin Shah as Mahendra is quiet, sensitive, torn between what he desires and what he promised. every glance, every pause in his voice, says more than words could. Anuradha Patel as Maya flutters in and out of their lives but her presence is like a thunderstorm. She is free, impulsive, not cruel but necessary. Together it creates a triangle that cuts deep, not with bitterness but with bittersweet reflection on relationships which sometimes should be stopped from rotting, and should let the other person go and live what they desire instead of holding them back and live in a hurtful relationship which you know will never grow.
This film shows separation and respecting others desires and choices is as important as any other thing.

Such a beautiful film of two estranged couple (now divorced) crossing paths at
a railway station. Cinema way ahead of its time which ages so so gracefully. One of fav classics.
