Incendies, directed by Denis Villeneuve is a story of heartbreak, trauma, pain, destruction, love and above all the truth– which sometimes we better off not knowing. It shows the pain and guilt of a mother whose whole life was turned upside down all because of wars and violence.
The film shows not the henceforth but the deeper and far more grounded consequences of war. Many family gets displaced and people gets lost midway. People who are born of love but forced to live in world of utter violence and do things that are unimaginable.
Nawal sets out to find her son who was put away from her. The truth made her silent. Anything from here would be a major spoiler.
I was, literally waiting for a fun sibling reunion but what I got? A pool scene and a question; 1+1... can it make 1??
