unemployment, hypocrisy of the society and corruption system, he had more of a serious and surrealistic take on it. Something that leaves a deep mark on you. A year later Mrinal Sens comes with a film called "Interview" with similar but diverse issues like anti-establishment, impact of technology of traditional jobs , middle class fate, and most importantly unemployment. But Mrinal sen puts his own charm and artistic touch to film, where the movie comes across as a satirical take on middle class whose fate becomes his own enemy when he prepares to attend the interview in a suit, highlighting the hypocrisy of companies who prefer looks and dressing over the personality and qualification. I just loved that out of the blue scene where Ranjit Mallick breaks the 4th wall in full crowded bus and starts talking to us , about the director , about the film and how he still has to find a job despite being an actor to survive, which also highlights the state of art films in this country compared to commercial films. We also keep seeing many protests and slogans being shouted out throughout the movie, almost like war cry against establishments who are doing so little for the people of this country. Which reminds me of this current time, and how it is so true even now. I really love the camera work, the casual shot of the bustling city almost like Godardesque. Its a great political film you will ever see even if it doesn't preach about it, it just showcases the life of a middle class man going through hell just to attend a job interview hoping his life will be better after this interview.
