Finally binge watched Welcome to Derry and I honestly loved it.
The best thing about the series is the detailing. Every character gets enough screen time to shine and that makes the story more engaging. You actually care about what happens to them. The way the show connects with other Stephen King stories like The Shining Doctor Sleep and IT feels natural and respectful. It never feels forced.
The origin story is handled really well especially the reason why Bob Gray was chosen. It adds depth to the character and makes the horror feel more meaningful.
The brutality in this series is on another level. It is easily more graphic than the IT movies. The monsters are genuinely scary and some scenes are deeply disturbing. This is proper horror that does not hold back.
Overall Welcome to Derry is dark intense and very satisfying for horror fans. It expands the Stephen King universe in the right way.
