Kara (2026) is a Tamil film in the Action, Crime, Drama genre, featuring
Dhanush as a small-town boy, a character he plays after Idli Kadai. In this film, he becomes a thief again to improve his life, as his father, KV Anand, is caught in a debt trap. The bank is the biggest villain in this film. I also don't like going to banks. The cat-and-mouse chase and the emotional father-son bonding will surely bring tears. The suspense and thrill in the film are well-built and executed, and the Robinhood elements make the film engaging and entertaining. On top of that, Dhanush's powerhouse performance is absolutely superb and outstanding. The film isn't entirely on the positive side; it also has some flaws. I don't want to nitpick, but the film addresses issues like imposed loans, debt traps, and how the banking interest system generates more money from lent money. Vignesh Raja has shown these issues in the film. I believe the film could have been better because, given that he made Por Thozhil previously, the expectations for this film were not met in terms of impact. Overall, the film is decent. It's worth watching for Dhanush's performance.

I dont feel that this movie was properly executed.
Nothing is realistic. Characters are not fully utilised.

Dhanush and KSR, Damn bro!
Sluggish heist scenes & Closure diluted the craft's
output.

Everything seems like coming positive towards the film - Pre Interval &

Kara was definitely a good watch for me.
Super first half followed by a decent second half. The buildup of the first half felt misfired in the second half.

Kara starts off really well with interesting characters and shades ..
we have Dhanush and Suraaj playing dark characters and the initial 20 mins is a cracker . Then the story

A Midas Vignesh Raja film!
Great artwork and strong set pieces throughout.
D, as usual, is impeccable and flawless. The tension-building — especially the stretch inspired by the
Raveena 's
A bit twisted and I was entertained.

Kara is one of those movies that slowly sneaks into your head after it ends.
At first, it looks like a rugged crime thriller with Dhanush doing what he does best being

Slow burn drama with not much knowledgeable plot makes it a 1 time watch,
unlike Por Thozhil.
