The entity twists the characters' desires and affections when attacking them; it was a brilliant move by the writers. For instance, the way Naim kisses Ryan's ear, and then, during the subsequent attack on Ryan, the entity perverts that moment with violence. Like the entity wants to make you fear and shameful of your own desires. And in order to get rid of that entity they need to get rid of their fear, insecurity, and shame and totally embrace who they are and who they love. The Film also handles tender teenage love and life very well, It is important to remember that everyone involved was a teenager. They were discovering what they felt, what they wanted, and above all the consequences of their own actions, everything is shown with simplicity. Even with a bittersweet ending, the story does not lose its tragic nature. None of this would have happened without the crushing weight of prejudice. The film also reflects on how church/religion always tries to control people's lifestyle and desires, it also questions the parenthood in very authentic way, where the intention might be good, but they fail to understand their own kids and end up scarring then for life with pain and trauma. The messaging is quite obvious, and it's not scary or gore at all, its very reflective , but you will find something fresh where it uses metaphor to tell what's wrong with people and you will relate to it and the performances were also quite good.
