MAN OF CINEMA
I love this genre of japanese films, where seasons keep changing, long summer
days, short rainy days and lovely autumn, along with them the life moves in slow motion, sometimes where nothing happens only mundane life and sometimes everything is happening at the same time with a rush of emotions. It's kind of like you are experiencing that life with them and loving each moment.
This story is about four sisters and their simple lives, getting to know each other on a deeper level every day, sharing meals, arguing about little things and learning to become a family. There aren't big moments or plot twists or such and sometimes you don't need them to tell a heartfelt emotional story.
Kore-eda does that perfectly. I love how he projects a character's emotions and their relationships with each other, it's so simple and effective. Every joy they share feels profound. Every failure and heartbreak feels like yours. Everything they say and do more feels more real. These characters exist in a time and place and that specificity of reality imbues them with so much humanity.

I liked the cinematography in this film.
It’s gradual and sensitive to the space. Again building a family on feelings than relations.
