James Gunn made a superman film that feels human and compassionate. He sidelined all the bs that previous superman was based on and made a version personal to him.
The music and score of the film is so uplifting. It feels embedded with hope. Every beat and brass makes it even more heroic and iconic.
The most favourite character of mine is probably crypto. He's identical to my pet. All his mischief reminded me of him.
Coming to story and universe, I'm not much into DC and whatever I watch is often related to Batman. But i truly enjoyed this film. A superman film where he always gets his ass kicked. One who is vulnerable and still come back to help humanity. This is true spirit of him. This is the meaning of hope. Which is the real motto of superman.
What I loved in this version of superman is that he cares for the lives of not only humans but also animals. He, literally saves a squirrel where otherwise in other DC movies, explosions and killing is so common and depicted to increase aura, lol.
