Superman

James Gunn took this alien character from DC and said fuck this man of steel nonsense, lets make this guy dog loving man who gets beat up regularly yet stands up and fight everytime because thats what superman meant to be, a ray of hope when world goes dark. James gunn totally made this character his own, its out and out director's movie, which has his trademark wholesomeness through the comedy, love and just the way he tells the story, it feels so exciting and refreshing. I wouldn't use the word comic accurate, i would say comic feeling, this is how you would have felt when you read the superman comic for the first time, it provides that experience of joy and happiness of watching superhero in the most fun way possible. I love james gunn because he adds sequences which you would never guess it coming, like at the end when you would have thought, after all that torture superman received in the hands of Lex, now clark will beat him to do death, but that very moment Krypto dog swoops in and beats him like a rug, its not only satisfactory but very joyful to watch. That's what you need in a comic book, a scene which makes you laugh and yet you feel that justice is served. Even the Super girl sequence was also so fun and out of the box, how everyone else would have introduced that character. A movie which has made with so much heart and soul and sole intention to provide first hand experience of seeing comic book on big screen, its a movie that will equally enjoyed by both adults and kids.
