MAN OF CINEMA
Bollywood's obsession with love stories, cringe comedy, unnecessary
exploitation of glamour, and item songs is a very sickening habit at the expense of storytelling.
They think this is the hit formula, no matter what the topic is at hand. Whether its horror, spy thriller, fantasy, sci fi, superhero, whatever it may be you will find all the above i mentioned will be shoved forcefully as a package. And it does not work.
Thamma had good underlying aspects related to betaal folklore which could have been used in a very effective manner. But instead they opted for the route of rom com in this universe with such bad comic scenes. There is not one character in this movie who is not cracking jokes. Villian, hero, hero's father, policeman, every fucking one, all their dialogues feels so artificial and feels like they were deliberately to written to force a laugh out of you. And those jokes are not even original, they used so many meme jokes and references. I don't know what they were even thinking.
Horror comedy doesn't mean , you use it to such an extent that it overshadows the whole plot point and seriousness it requires. Nawaaz's character writing was more of a clown than a betaal. It was such a mid movie filled with unwanted elements and an outdated formula.

Visually polished, emotionally empty.
A disaster dressed up in good lighting.
Watch out for LOKAH again!!

Not that good But it's a fun watch.
First half was boring but second half was entertaining.
Cameos and the universe connection was good.

#Thamma is a middling horror-comedy with zero heartbeats that doesn't really
land with its emotions, laughter, or entertainment quotient, thereby making the drama a swing and a
