Let me just start by saying, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the same film is
already a win. But the moment you see them together in the very first sequence, you feel the chemistry almost immediately. It is warm, it is fun, and honestly, it is electric. There is something about Emily Blunt's eyes that carries this quiet but overpowering confidence, and she brings every bit of that here. Colt Seavers is a stuntman. Not the guy whose face you see on posters. The guy who actually does the dangerous stuff so that the guy on the poster looks cool. After a bad accident on set, he disappears from the job and from the life of the woman he loves, Jody, who is a camera operator. Eighteen months later, Jody is now making her directorial debut on a big action film in Sydney, and Colt is roped into coming back to the set. He did not expect to see her. She definitely did not expect to see him. When Colt shows up on set, Jody makes it very clear she is not happy. She calls him out, embarrasses him in front of the crew, and uses her camera work to make him feel every bit of the discomfort he deserves. What is brilliant here is that this could have been bitter and dramatic, but the film turns it funny instead. You feel her anger, you understand it completely, and then suddenly you are laughing. That balance is pulled off really well. Here is where the film gets interesting. Jody not wanting Colt around is understandable, but slowly you start to realize there is a bigger reason he was brought to this set that nobody is telling him about. The conspiracy sneaks up on you in a way that feels surprisingly simple yet well-planned. And just when you think you have figured it out, the film throws a genuine "what the hell" moment at you. Without getting into too much detail, let's just say the villain reveal involves a combination of a disappearing A-list actor, a very ruthless producer, and some genuinely scary modern technology that makes the twist feel uncomfortably real. Visually, this film is a treat. David Leitch, the director, is himself a former stuntman, and that background shows in every single action sequence. There is real love for the craft on screen. One sequence in particular, a split-screen edit that feels completely in sync, is the kind of filmmaking moment that makes you sit up a little straighter in your seat. The film is essentially a love letter to stunt performers, the people who do all the actual dangerous work and rarely get any of the credit. That theme gives the film a surprising amount of heart underneath all the action and comedy. Poor Colt. The man is just trying to survive, both literally and emotionally. Outside of Jody, almost every person around him seems to be creating some new problem for him. He is being framed, chased, lied to, and put through one chaotic situation after another. Ryan Gosling plays this with a dry, exhausted kind of charm that never gets old. And when things escalate to the point where Colt and Jody have to team up with the stunt crew to bring the truth out, the film fully delivers. The way they get the confession out of the right person is creative, funny, and deeply satisfying in the best possible way It would be a shame to watch this film and not mention that Emily Blunt is not just standing around looking good. She gets her own moments of action and completely owns them. The film treats both Gosling and Blunt as equals in the story, and that makes the romance feel earned rather than just decorative The Fall Guy is genuinely good fun.

No matter what, I loved this film.
A love letter to all stuntmen and women for their efforts. But the film feels empty and doesn't hit as much.

"The Fall Guy" tries to blend different genres like movies about movies,
action, romance and humour together. But the amalgamation of these genres works only in parts.
