Based on a real life incident of the forest fire in California in 2018 and how
a bus driver and a teacher try to get 22 kids safely to their parents when things go absolutely bonkers as the fire engulfs the entire town of paradise .
You can watch absolutely anything that has Matthew mcconaughey . He just transforms into the character effortlessly. And the entire film is mounted on his rescue of the kids amidst several anxiety inducing moments . He partners with America ferrera who’s the teacher accompanying the kids. Amidst all the chaos it was great to see some lighter moments between the characters and it was moving when Matthew narrates bout his relationship with his father and then his son . But considering the plot of the film we don’t get that many scenes with his son or family . The making and production values are great considering the fact that it’s surrounded by fire most scenes or it’s filled with dark smoke. Understand the limitations with the plot as there is no time to flesh out the characters but it’s so well made by greengrass that it ends up being a fantastic film .
