so much absurdity, visual symbolism, and lots of surrealism. After the movie one can ask , was it necessary to make it so complex, dreamy and the surreal imagery? Well my answer is it depends on what the audience takes home after watching it. I personally loved the offbeat sense of humor between family members, especially between siblings where the sexual connotation are really observing. And the mellow piano jazz background score, the dreamy sequences about longing for love, fear of death, guilt and regrets and finally the mesmerizing images that find beauty in the ordinary things like mushrooms and other things. The film reflects on what a broken marriage does not just to both people in the relationship but everyone in their family, especially the children. But what makes this common story so uncommon and unique is the way it is told. Every frame is stunning and dreamy and it is rendered with absurd comedy. But one character that stands out and makes the film so heartwarming is Panda the dog. He just stole every scene he was in. Will win your heart for sure.
