A twisted take on Cindrella fairytale but with nauseating body horror, told through the pov of stepsister, Whose obsession towards marrying prince, inferiority and insecurity about her own beauty leads to consequences which are grotesque and disturbing to witness. I love how they used the psyche of being a woman and her insecurities and mixed it with a ever famous fairytale. It comes across as satire on fairytales and beauty standards of women in society and expectations from them. it highlights the false notions of fairy tale romance we are told as children, and how it can affect a child mentally which in turn turns into insanity and self abuse/harm, but no matter how much you change from outside you will always feel ugly about yourself deep inside. The film packs great production design which really takes you in a dark and bleak fantasy world of cindrella. Mind you, here cindrella is not the centre of attraction, it's the other side of the story where the stepsister goes cynical, hysterical and obsessive. A sensual story turns into sadism in real quick time. The film holds the audience together very well with captivating and shocking sequences but with a dark ugly twist. Its bold, shocking ,gruesome , gross and disgusting that you might look away sometimes because those scenes are really nauseating. But the film is also a hilarious satire which you will really enjoy.
