The moment you hear hind rajab's trembling voice full of fear, it just sends shivers through your bones. Its not just a movie for me, its a sobering, disturbing and deeply emotional testimony of the crime that was ignored by the whole world. This movie confronts the act of brutal killings through voice, transforming lived trauma into an urgent act of remembrance and witness. It was not just the voice of hind rajab, it was the voice of millions of Gaza people who were crushed under buildings, cars and under the open sky like cockroaches. It is very difficult when you make a hybrid film by re-enacting the real events and blending it with real footage/audio. It blurs the lines between fiction and reality. But often in that case most films fail to hit the deep emotional tone to make the story striking. But here director Kaouther Ben Hania very delicately reconstructs the moment rather than adapting, it almost transforms you into a helpline center, makes you feel suffocated, angry, helpless, frustrated and emotional to the point where you just lose all hope on the humanity even after trying to rescue till the very last second. This is why i have so much faith in the medium of cinema, in an age where lies and propaganda can be easily spread on social media and news media, even in cinemas, but some filmmakers stand true to their integrity and create an important piece which needs to be watched by every single person. Because this movie will make you witness brutal reality and provides important platform to hear their voice for help , otherwise all you see is every every other power trying to suppress them in this very moment.
