So many mixed emotions.
I would define this film as an "All style low substance Fan service" venture. I always loved the visual sensibilities of Sujeeth as a creator. But with this project it almost feels like he over corrected himself after the feedback he got from Sahoo. Made the story too simple & cliche.. which shouldn't bother me as much because I wasn't expecting a heavy plot from this movie. But he could have generated more interest in me with more interesting characters. The villain, the love interest, the father figure and a follower.. all these roles felt very plug and play. The emotional moments were not allowed to breathe. It's almost like they are rushing us to the next action episode before we can even feel the motive behind the set piece.
But all these complaints I have with the writing were compensated by the technicians of this film. The cinematography, the DI, and the special effects work extremely well for the narrative. Production design is top notch. And ofcourse, the MVP THAMAN.. he did everything he could to elevate the moments. I don't know what this film would have been without his score. I do have some complaints with Navin Nooli's editing though. I don't know if it's the lack of footage.. but the second half felt very choppy & inorganic from an edit perspective.
Overall.. whatever I liked in Sahoo.. I didn't in OG (Screenplay, Story & characters)
And whatever I didn't like in Sahoo.. I liked in OG

The right balance is still hiding from Sujeeth.
