MAN OF CINEMA
I wanted to check out the original iterations of Nosferatu, before the release
of Robert Eggers's take on this mysterious vampire of Wisborg. I felt this original film was more of an introduction to the world of Nosferatu, rather than the aim of making a horror film. Because you never really get scared watching this, even though some of the effects were pretty amazing to watch compared to that era. The characters were a little lighter in tone, and had an underlying humor in them. Also the big ass lines and dialogues which interrupts between scenes kind of ruined the horror experience i wanted, should have dialogues, but it was the era of mute films. Films feel more nostalgic and less cinematic, with lack of good performances. Hoping 1979 german version will be better.
