Fritz Lang with his procedural manhunt narrative shows mankind is a beast in one form or another. But the brilliance of this film is in its intricacies with the unraveling mystery of the serial killer. With its derailed investigation, scenes of constant dialogues, long shots, and perfect use of both sound and mute in some shots provides unreal experience. Lorre's performance also needs to be appreciated, perfect portrayal of complex character.
This Film is historically and aesthetically significant in the cinema world, which established a road map and its inventions are still used to this day.
