MAN OF CINEMA
The insurance company pays or not, but a crime made out of emotional
consequences never pays off. The film manages to tell a gripping crime thriller despite its monotonous pace and less plot twists till the end. Unlike other crime stories, here we see how the criminal gets exposed and falls in their own trap slowly, instead of them escaping and committing crime. The film rides mostly on emotions of love, greed and betrayal. Billy Wilder again manages to provide the same shock value in the climax like his most crime thrillers which are highly effective. More than the story it's the performances of MacMurray and other characters that will leave an impression on you, Its brilliantly acted and brilliantly executed noir film from start to finish.
