It has hypnotic energy that sways you by just the music, setting and cinematography of the film. Whenever music plays in the room, it feels like a time machine taking you back to that era and experiencing it in the best way possible. That final dance sequence where her feet wont stop as tabla goes on and on, that was just exhilarating. Its unique tale of failed patriarchy, failed pride and ego of men whose life's happiest moments only existed in that music room under the shining lights but the reality strikes as the sun rises. Ray brilliantly shows the abuse of power and wealth, how it can destroy a mad man more than make him happy. Its a brilliant musical drama.
