The Easy Life

in 60s from being more traditional agriculture, family oriented society to more individualistic, independent and free spirited society and the transformation of city social life into bistros, nightclubs and beaches. These themes are not really on the forefront, but act as underlying themes. What we really see on screen is two totally different personalities Bruno ( who represents more modern society, extrovert, free spirited guy) and Roberto( very introverted, conservative). When these two strangers hop on the most unexpected road trip of their lives we see many humorous moments come out of it. The charm of this movie is really its comedy, its quirky, crass and unintentionally funny. Its a quest for fun from the boring repetitive life In their own obnoxious way. There is nothing extraordinary here but its the moments and dialogues that are really heartfelt and stick with you. Its impulsive, unplanned, and leaping into the road which you want to choose. It's very liberating and exuberating, until you witness the tragedy at the climax which you might see coming at one point. I am not sure why it was necessary to do that at the end. But i feel somewhere the maker wanted to convey that you can leap and fly all you want, but be grounded and never over do it, otherwise there will always be consequences.
