MAN OF CINEMA
This is one of the most bizarrely powerful and visually enchanting movies I
have seen.
A man is grown and influenced in his whole life by the women around him. The film really addresses his relationships with them in the most surrealist way possible. It really dwells into the mind of characters, we see his desires , dreams and fantasies come alive in a way of surrealism.
Sometimes you can hardly tell which scene is bound in reality, surrealism, fantasy or dream. Movies take control over the audience and don't let them differentiate between things they are witnessing. It's chaotic and hypnotic. Everything comes together as the most unique cluster of complex human life. The movie captures the insanity of the character who is the film director quite brilliantly.
One of the things that will really strike you and stay is the Cinematography and settings, it creates that sinister atmosphere where you get lost and lose all senses. Even in the black & white movie, it brilliantly uses black and white colors together in settings, costume and as lighting. It just gives a different mood altogether.
The movie might not make sense at times, but it never really intends to. It's a mirror of his own fantasies, desires and dreams in a surreal way. All you can do is enjoy the beauty of it.
