Win wenders tells a melodramatic and poetic fantasy which shows its the love that makes us humans despite all the flaws we carry in us. Questioning existentialism of so many people in a very damning way possible. Also shows magic human connection in a very hopeful way, a connection and comfort that we all desire. Wings of Desire parallels the theme of wanting something one might not openly admit, but eventually had to make some sort of sacrifice to get that desire, like here Damiel gives up being an angel to be a human to experience love and emotions. I loved how in the movie kids were able to see the angels, like showing kids are the most innocent, loving pure souls without any corruption. We all live to love, To bleed, To yearn, To hope and this movie just shows those things in the dreamiest and most poetic way.
