Synopsis

Wong Kar Wai directs a sublime story infact two stories of policemen who are
lonely in Hong Kong regretting their missed connections and how their life could have been .The fact that these lead characters revel in their solitude when Hong Kong was expanding too fast for their liking into a bustling city . With WKW you get his usual atmospherics where the story is set in , the beautiful cinematography by his usual Christoph Doyle and the scintillating score that’s vibing with the HK of the mid 90s. The inherent sadness is beautifully constructed and you kind of mistake it as a happy go lucky film. The ambiguity in the ending might be bittersweet but WKW wants to say that we live forever with this never ending ambiguity.
