MAN OF CINEMA
" An artist who isn't humane, is not an artist"
" If the cinema reflects on
life, then there’s room for everyone."
Mohsen Makhmalbaf in his experimental Documentary captures iranian people's love, aspirations and emotions for cinema. How it really affected them and what really made them audition for this.
The whole film is an audition which itself is a film where these people came to audition not knowing that this audition itself is a film. It is a beautiful imagery that the director creates to capture the raw emotions without any filter. These people were the subject as well as actors in this film. Its a perfect love letter to cinema that any maker can give.
This film shows you don't fake acting, a fiction story or illusion to move the audience. Sometimes true raw emotions simply can do just that perfectly.
