Makhmalbaf tries to reenact his own past incident in his own film, but he changes certain things in it and ends on a note which is very different from the actual incident. The director chose to reflect on his own actions , guilt and thoughts through this alternative ending. I really loved the humour which comes out of such simple scenes, characters and conversations. But that final freeze frame really comes across as a great metaphor. It depicts that humankind cannot be saved by violence/war, it can only saved by love ,kindness and care. The ending where one is supposed to be shot and another supposed to be stabbed, instead their innocent consciousness overcomes and one brings the flower vase forward and another one puts bread in the frame. And in between is a woman in the burqa. It's so political and humane in nature. Truly showcases the social state of turmoil in iran in a very witty and poetic manner. "All we need is a moment of innocence to reshape the past and live in a more mindful and loving present."
