But Paul Thomas Anderson brings out his own twist in this genre, where the character is not only hopeless about his life but also filled social anxiety, rage and shame which was put on him by his abusive and dominating sisters. The love and comfort you get when you are in your most vulnerable stage, that is the love you should cherish. This movie is all about that. The character Barry really felt more relevant to me and i was able to comprehend what he was going through. At the heart of it, it's a romantic comedy, but the main character makes it much deeper and impactful. It is complex , funny , and adorable. Adam Sandler is brilliant in this quirky and unique love story.
