MAN OF CINEMA
This is the only film/documentary made by legendary iranian poet Forugh
Farrokhzad before she died. Documentary focuses on the iranian leper colony's residents'way of life, suffering and their inhumane living conditions. In background we also hear the narration by Farrokhzad's stating of quotes from the Old Testament, the Qur'an and her own poetry. The film is so striking brutal, honest and emotional to the core. These people have been abandoned and isolated by their loved ones and also by society. The ugliness is not in them, ugliness is in the eyes of society. That's what the film shows, and also the iranian politics behind it. Film questions human creation, inequality, human rights, religion, politics without taking their names. It is a brilliant documentary that one should watch.
