"the banshee of inisherin" to be honest felt overrated.
i actually tuned up for this movie after hearing a lot of praises and hype, so i had a lot of expectation from it, but to be honest i just felt its a pretty average movie. i would never say its a bad movie, but i feel its pretty average.
there are many things i liked about the movie. the cinematography was exceptional. the performances were great and its always amazing to hear the irish accent. the jokes work in most of the places. the themes they were trying to discuss were nice and layered.
the issue i had with the movie is that, even though the themes they try to discuss here like existential crisis, war, loneliness, were evident but never felt emotionally connecting to me personally. so the characters felt a bit disconnected.
