The Last of the Sea Women

Will you in your 70s, 80s risk your life and jump deep into the ocean almost8-10 metres deep to harvest seafood? I don't think so, but here are some legendary old women who dive in everyday to harvest seafood without a miss. Why they do it? It's not like they need money, their wallets are thick and their bodies are thin(weak), but they still wake up with such great energy and courage to dive just to keep this hundreds of years old tradition alive. It's their way of life, they prefer to take their last breath under the water rather than in bed. This documentary is about these women, their lives and how it is threatened to extinction of this culture because of global warming, change of ideology and biggest problem the radioactive waste coming from japan which will end the lives of Haenyeo. This documentary is great to really understand how we should really protect our cultures and way of life for future generations, and how we should save the earth coming together and not destroy it. It is a really nice informative and awakening watch.
