Poor things is like a re-telling of the Frankenstein monster story .
Emma stone jumps off a bridge and commits suicide . A made scientist played by William Dafoe brings her to life by using the brain of her unborn child to see if he can create a miracle . The woman- child if you say becomes Bella Baxter in a beautifully wierd world which is unique with the colour tones , music and slightly OTT performance to coincide with the director’s universe . Mark ruffalo plays a wickedly funny character who falls in love with Bella but then she discovers bout her sexuality and her independence and this literally takes her across countries. Calling Emma’s performance Oscar baity would be slightly harsh but you know the academy loves such performances and now we know that Lily Gladstone got the snub. It took me few attempts to watch the movie in its entirety cos the universe and wonderful weirdness the director creates doesn’t allow us to invest in the characters all that easily . But it’s a rewarding watch for the artists performance and the world created by the director.

One of the best of the year.
A film with so much heart. Mark Ruffalo was Hilarious. An antagonist who made so much sense. I was rooting for his character throughout the film.

Wow! This movie was so so absurd and yet real.
I was hooked through this peculiar journey till the very end while experiencing all human emotions in such a detached manner.

Poor things is a great satirical take on human beings in this
society. I love how the director mixes realism with fantasy and takes it up a notch with absurdity.
