director tries to do similar things in bits, but it doesn't work out. In an attempt to make it more authentic, the film loses its thrill and intensity which was needed in crime stories. The story heavily focuses on Manoj's character but his conflicts are with the other characters, but the film fails to bring those other characters in the forefront. Film length too harms the effectiveness, it was stretched too long and nothing much was happening in between which was interesting. I liked Manoj's portrayal of a crime reporter who is hungry for a headline, but also a pathetic and selfish person in personal life. This might be one of his boldest films he did, and those scenes do come out naturally. I wish they would have explored the press vs digital news angle a little. But i liked the ending, no matter if you are an honest reporter or leech like Joy in this movie, exposing the truth in this country will only lead to one consequence. The film had a great character idea and the motive, but it fails to bring all other things together, it just feels half baked and jarring at times.
