Baby

Some films make you uncomfortable.They get you invested in the main characters, get you to like them and then want to hate them for their choices, keeping your moral compass as the yardstick. They make you laugh one second, angry the other and have you shouting at the screen for their audacity and stupidity. These films make you think what kind of effect these characters could have on our society and the never-ending war between man and woman and afraid of what women may go through as a result of this, and ALSO make you think that it's all just a reflection of what's happening around us. MOST films do none of this. Maybe it's because of the quality of those films; maybe because how hard they're trying to be politically correct or how desensitised we've become because of short form content numbing our senses or all the bad news we choose to avoid with a single flick of a thumb. #Baby is one of those few rare films that makes you react. It isn't perfect; its supporting characters bring down the energy; it doesn't bother to be politically correct and has several overlong stretches but it still manages to grab you, get you invested but most importantly...get you engaged in a conversation with the screen and a moral battle inside your head. PS: Anand Deverkonda's performance is probably the biggest leap I've seen from an actor in a long time. He was so real that i wanted to laugh at him, slap sense into him, hug him and laugh over a drink with him at the same time♥️
