editing and the last 40 mins keeps you at the edge of your seat. Fuck , Missed this in IMAX. This film is definitely for the big screens particularly imax. First of all , this is a very unique and fresh concept that had the potential to become an action film. But really appreciate Alex Garland for keeping this subtle and looking into the humaneesque part of it more. The screenplay was fantastic. The film started a bit slow and confusing but after dwelling deep into the plot , it became intense and intriguing. I was literally shit scared when they got caught by the unknown militia who were already dumping random people dead bodies down a pit. Adding some sauce to that , i literally got jumpscared when Tony's friend was shot . The way the camera stood still at many places were really awesome and clever. Peak cinematography. After each and every shocking incident occurs in the movie like bomb blast or a close character dying , the sound just goes mute and gives u a really haunting and nightmarish vibe which is a really good part of this film. Kirsten Dunst was awesome. Her character was the complicated one to act in this film and she carried it out with finesse. Hats off to Rob Hardy for the outstanding cinematography. Each and every shot , the closeups and the wide ones , was magnificent. It definitely plays a pivotal role in making this film work more. The sound design was fantastic but the music was trash. I hate when they put a random English song for the slow mo shots in intense scenes . Man fuck that shit. It gets u off the vibe and intensity of the film at the moment in pops in. Hated that so much in this film and the score was not good too. If they had worked in the score and music more , this would have gotten a 5 star from my side. One bad mistake by Jessie because of excitement made a huge twist to the ending. Didn't see that coming. WAR PHOTOGRAPHY IS CRAZY MAN! WATCHOUT FOR YOURSELF FIRST AND BE NUMB OR ELSE YOU DIE IN THIS FIELD! The film , on whole , is a slow - burn dystopian war film with lots of haunting and intense scenes but definitely not for everyone.
