Synopsis
The youngest son in a traditional Pakistani family takes a job as a backup dancer in a Bollywood-style burlesque and quickly becomes infatuated with the strong-willed trans woman who runs the show.

Sexuality is such a intricate thing! Haider living in a male dominatedhousehold, the suppression of masculinity is so high on him, that he develops a sort of craving to it. He becomes submissive, that's why you see him turning around to Biba and submitting to her. Meanwhile his wife Mumtaz, is caught up in this whirlwind of things struggling with her own sexual awakening, which eventually leads to her demise. If anything, there is no joy in this Joyland. Not even a glimpse of it.
I started this movie with zero expectations and man this movie surprised me.A must watch for those who won't mind unconventional movies.
