Synopsis
In modern-day Helsinki, two lonely souls in search of love meet by chance in a karaoke bar. However, their path to happiness is beset by obstacles - from lost phone numbers to mistaken addresses, alcoholism, and a charming stray dog.

You might call yourself cinephile after watching so much world cinema andunderstanding about them deeply. But there will be one such movie which will question your cine intellectual and belief of how cinema should be. This is one of them. This short 1hr 20 min movie left me speechless, because i am not able to grasp the kind of content this is. I can bet you have never ever seen this kind of film and characters. More and more i started to understand the filmmaking, nuances and depth of this, i was in awe. The film is so real , relevant and humorous that you won't even feel it. Because the characters are atypical, strange and static. Because that's what this world has made many people. Emotionless, lonely and sad. Imagine your neighbouring countries are in war, you are hearing on radio about countless deaths everyday, and you are struggling to have good stable employment, and are sad and introverted. Such are these two lonely souls who meet accidentally and they can't even express themselves, they go through misunderstandings Yet somehow they find themselves in the same knot there is no end, but there is resolve which feels satisfying. This is the first film i am watching which is directed by Aki Kaurismaki. And i was really left speechless. He has shown alcoholism, depression, loneliness, affection all with such authenticity that you will question, is this really film or you are something real unfolding in front of your eyes. Tbh it will either make you feel nothing or will leave you speechless. "Alienated lonely people finding hope and love in a crumbling dark world" That's a one line description.
Well that's what I call a feel good movie, watch it when you are feeling letdown, this movie will cheer you up.
