2023 Japanese Movie
Drama Horror Sci-Fi Adventure Action
Why this godzilla movie is the best rated godzilla movie ever made. That too with the lowest budget. Most of the previous godzilla movies by Hollywood tried to glorify the godzilla. Somewhere they tried to build the Godzilla character as Anti Hero..and in the latest film they made him a hero. These films totally ignored humans and their emotions they faced because of the destruction caused by these monsters, that was non existent. That made the film more of fantasy than relevant or close to reality. What godzilla minus one does is completely different and the timeline where it was set up. Japanese people were one of the most devastated after world war II after losing their loved ones and homes in bomb raids. Their scars were not faded away that they had to get ready for another war where the enemy was much bigger threat and invincible. The movie really Focuses on human stories and the emotions which really makes the film more effective. Rather than glorifying godzilla. It showed as godzilla is the creation of humans itself. Because of the radiation caused by bombings during wars. A Man Vs Monster. A man with a hope to live a peaceful life goes against the biggest enemy world has seen. He was neither a fancy scientist or from some mystical tribe. He was a simple soldier who is grieving the loss of loved ones and struggling to meet the end meal. It's a great story of human emotions , will to live and survive any kind of threat. This story is more relevant and emotional to japanese people because japan goes through the hardest natural calamities compared to any other country. They face those threats boldly every time and show great will to fight and survive . And the VFX of the movie is so good. It is nostalgic, it is rustic but does all the work film needed.
