The Day of the Jackal

doesn't feel gimmicky, heroic and formulated like a bunch of other spy content. This show stands out in its genre. I am a huge fan of david Fincher but this show is really much better than his film " The Killer". Eddie Redmayne is just the perfect cast as the clever, cunning and yet dangerous Jackal. His bondy language, physique is totally opposite to the kind of spy agents we see. This character provides more authenticity and feels yes there might be a jackal among us. Eddie really pulls it off so brilliantly. I saw some criticism for Lashana Lynch who played the agent bianca, but i felt she did good enough job. Not great, but she did what her character required, i think people were expecting her to be a hero who comes to rise and capture the jackal but that's not the case. The show thrives on psychological tension and a razor sharp plot. Decently paced narratives that keep you hooked. And the story that makes you binge the show throughout. A totally traumatized, irrational, cynical hitman who will finish his job in style and will come to get his unpaid debt at any cost.
