MAN OF CINEMA
A coming of age story of two daughters and a story of a hot cold relationship
with their father told through different summers of their lives when both daughters visit his father in new mexico. It has four different acts from their childhood to adulthood shows how both daughters understand their father is flawed like any other human being, even if he tries to spend good time with them, he left enough scars on both of them because of his alcoholism, temper and abuse. It's a very melodramatic story told in a very subtle way. But it lacks a strong central narrative and character connection with the audience, you don't really root for them or feel. But the actors do a better job than what the script offers. The film should have focused a little bit on their adolescent lives, but the movie takes big time jumps between acts, which affects the narrative and connectivity.
